1.Where do we find you?
KI Kennels is on the Hog Bay Road approximately 42 kms from Penneshaw or 15 kms from Kingscote. We have a large spotty fridge and signage to mark our driveway.
2. What do I need to bring?
All you NEED to bring is your pet on a leash or in a pet container, and your pet’s current vaccination papers. However you MAY bring food, bedding, toys or comforters for your pet.
3.How far in advance do we need to book?
During the peak season: Christmas – New Year we are usually booked out by early December. School holidays are another busy time for us and we usually require 2 weeks prior booking. But generally a couple of days are sufficient.
4. Can we take our dog out during the day while we are visiting the island?
Most days we cater for visitors that wish to take their dogs out for the day. We do have set hours for people to pick up and drop off their pets. But some days, such as Christmas Day, New Years Day, and Anzac Day we prefer not to so that we can celebrate our family time privately.
5. Do you do doggy daycare while we visit the national parks?
We are happy to cater to visitors but we do have set times for people to drop off and pick up their pets, so as not to interfere with our routines. We generally advise people to drop their pet off early in the morning, make a full day of it and pick them up again in the early evening. That way they get the full experience on offer and don’t have to rush around to see all the attractions. We also advise that they travel all the way to Flinders Chase National Park and work their way back along the South Coast so that they don’t have as far to travel at sunset, which is the time that wildlife is most active. Many people don’t realize how large the island is and how long it takes to travel from one end to the other. It makes for a big day of travelling.
